Graduating from Australian National University, CM Lai has built on close to three decades of experience as a litigator and gained a reputation in handling Energy Supply Disputes. CM Lai & Partners is established to serve as the hallmark of this legacy, and his passion for utilizing the Law as a problem solving tool.

Born and bred in Penang, Desmond is a warm, affable person who is sensitive to clients' needs and problems. He derives personal satisfaction from problem solving through strategic thinking and is passionate in improving himself and his surrounding environment.

He constantly publishes articles for pupils and young lawyers to improve their competence and practice. He is currently serving in KL Bar Council Young Lawyers Committee.

Ho Wen Hui

Wen Hui considers herself a writer, a speech-maker, but most of all, a story teller.

In terms of practice, she handles general litigation, matrimonial matters, and conveyancing files here in CM Lai & Partners. She is also involved with will-drafting for clients.

Joyce is a keen and enthusiastic learner, allowing her to grow in leaps and bounds while doing her pupillage here in CM Lai & Partners, especially in the practical aspects. Believing in holistic growth, she also believes that the law must be evolutionary to remain powerful. Joyce has written a dissertation on regulating Blockchain.

She has recently completed her LL.M degree whilst doing her chambering in CM Lai & Partners with her dissertation titled Tackling The Abuse And Challenges Of Blockchain: Is Regulation Alone Sufficient To Protect Its Users?
